The Think Big Business Plan Competition is organized by iCentre for the first time in Brunei Darussalam.

This is a business plan writing competition open to the general public residents in Brunei Darussalam. It’s an opportunity to enhance the creativity, presentation skills and acquire practical business plans into action.

The best business proposal will be awarded as follows:

1^st Prize will be awarded BND 20,000

2^nd Prize will be awarded BND 10,000

3^rd Prize will be awarded BND 5,000

Special Prize will be awarded BND 10,000

Brief Contest Summary

The Think Big Business Plan competition is the biggest prize money award in Brunei Darussalam. The Competition is co- hosted together with the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) and Asia Inc.

The competition was launched on 27th August 2008 and contestants have until 20th Oct 2008 to submit their 3 page executive summary. The business plan contestants pack is provided in our website at  www.iCentre.biz or www.iCentre.com.bn .

Each executive summary will be read by at least 3 judges, to ensure a fair judging and reduce deviation across all the judges. The best business plan will be shortlisted and put through to the next round.

1. General Category

Companies/ teams

The 2 categories are open to anyone interested in entrepreneurship, regardless of whether a company has been incorporated. Entries must be an original work of the entrants.

Companies are welcome to compete in the competition as long as it is a local registered company and the participant from this company is a Citizen and Permanent Resident of Brunei Darussalam.

iCentre incubating companies is eligible to join in the business plan competition.

In the application form, the application should indicate the team leader. As the team leader will be the point of contact and presenter for the final round business plan competition.

Upon conclusion of the competition, the winning team will secure and receive 50% of the price money. However, as an economic incentive for Brunei Darussalam, winning team will be required to register and setup their business in Brunei, to be incubated at iCentre after conclusion of the competition, and provide documentary proof in order to qualify for the remaining 50% of the price money. This is to be inline with the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) initiative to spearhead and support development of the SME and promote entrepreneurship in Brunei Darussalam.

Shortlisted candidate will be invited to attend the THiNK BiG National Technology Forum on 12^th Nov 2008.

Closing date for the executive summary will be on the 20^th Oct 2008.

Individuals

Individuals are allowed to take part in all 2 categories of the business plan.  The business plan competitions are opened to Citizen and Permanent Resident of Brunei Darussalam.

The minimum age limit for participants have to be 18 and above.

Entries must be original work of the entrants.

Judging will be based on the same requirement and judging criteria as the category above.
